Intersil buffer amps suit portable TFT-LCD apps

Designed for common reference voltage, V(com) and gamma color correction in TFT-LCDs of portable devices, the new dual buffer amplifier from Intersil Corp. promises to bring high performance and lower power consumption.
"The low-cost EL5027 is the latest product in our line of industry leading V(COM) and gamma products," said Michael Jennings, director of marketing for Intersil's Display Products. "Building on the success of our products targeted for monitors, LCD-TVs and notebook PCs, the new buffer amplifier [EL5027] offers ultra low power consumption for small handheld products such as games, cell phones, smartphones and PDAs."

The EL5027 features two unity-gain rail-to-rail I/O buffer amplifiers, each with a bandwidth of 2.5MHz. The buffers offer a 1.2V/£gs slew rate specification and can drive up to 120mA short circuit current. The per-buffer current drain is 110£gA.

With a single supply voltage range from 4.5V to 16.5V, the EL5027 is rated for operation between the -40¢XC to 85¢XC temperature range. It is housed in a 6-pin TSOT package
